I have worked as a commercial photographer for over 35 years, specializing in automotive and product photography. Over the past number of years I have developed an interest in travel and landscape photography. As a traveller, I have been to interesting places and met interesting people, albeit for a short time; it always leaves me with a different perspective on life and of my own choices.

In my commercial career, the aspect of a self-imposed time limit (time is money) has been very present while I’m working. Now I have to learn the opposite: to be still both mentally and emotionally.

Removed from the frenetic pace of commercial photography, my attention quickly shifts to the sometimes beautiful and difficult meditation of watching the light on my subject for hours and days, trying to approach and embrace the stillness. My subjects don’t care if I’m there or not; they’ve been here for millennia, yet I remain determined to capture part of their world.
